All about my A30

In Spet 2006, I went to Shengzhen to get some reference book for my DIY hobby. At the same time, I start my first "DIY Project" by getting a pair of Passlab Aleph 30 PCB from 華毅音響, before I finished my first power amp -LM3886. The A30 is nearly done after 3+ months time.

I studied alot of passlab DIY related website and forum. Audiodiy forum inspire me a lot, there got many folks who are passionate to build their unique work.

Once I have a little idea on how the schematic works, then I started to source the components for the project. The components on the main PCBs are uite simple, MOSFETs, resistors, power resistors and small caps. Since the lagacy for Passlabs schematic is minimal and unique. The crucial essence for the sound quality is matching precision on FETs, resistors and so on. I get the matched MOSFET from Dr. Lee, who is famous for DIY ciricle for providing this service. For the rest of the parts, I pick RA for resistor choice from DIYCLUB , which is crystal clear and accurate in value. For power resistor, I gave up KOA since it have a hi ppm deviation. I ever consider Mills, which got very cool spec. and reputations, still I pick something else rather than that. Finally, I place an order from Digikey for the Panansonic power resistor which very much cheaper than Mills, and I order a small lot of 100 for matching 24 pcs. 3 feedback cap also uses Panasonic Purism for budget from a local online cap dealer.
